Oh Swistle, why do so few people write in with updates?! I mean relative to the number of questions you so graciously answer every week. I haven’t done the math but it definitely seems like less than 1/3 of the posts get an eventual update. I understand new baby overwhelm & such, but… it only takes a minute, and skipping it is so rude of the questioners. Anyway, I’m sure you feel this lack-of-update agony much more acutely than me.
Happy Thanksgiving! And THANK YOU for running this site! It’s my favorite blog on the Internet.
It puzzles me, too! I even added to the submission instructions the part about agreeing to submit a follow-up, and it didn’t make any difference. In the past I’ve tried nagging people—but sometimes the responses are verrrrry sad and then I feel terrible for asking for an update, so I stopped doing that. But I wish more people would let us know! Sometimes we don’t get an update until they’re writing for help with the NEXT pregnancy and they mention the previous child’s name!
I was happy to send an update with our choice of Patrick. I love reading everyone’s name updates! This is our last baby but I still plan to read the blog. It’s one of my sites I visit everyday.
Congratulations on Patrick! It sounds like all you needed was the freedom to not use it to make you love it.
(And little Grace is absolutely adorable).

Maybe people don’t want to list their kids actual (vs. hypothetical) name online?

I agree!!! That is my favourite part and I always find myself digging through the comments to see what I suggested! hehe…
Great choices of Patrick and Grace. :)
