Ahhhhhhh Target Therapy

I went to Target today for some therapy. I’ve been a bit of an emotional mess the last few days, and also my jaw is getting sore from the clenching. So it was good timing for a successful/fun Target trip:

This is the crowning glory, so I should really leave it for last but I can’t wait. I’ve been wanting this John Derian print ever since I first saw it for $24.99. Then I saw it for $17.48 and didn’t buy it. Then I saw it for $12.48 and didn’t buy it. Today I saw it for $6.24 and I BOUGHT IT.

This is the crowning glory as far as Elizabeth is concerned: rainbow-sparkle Hello Kitty shoes. These weren’t even on clearance, but they were on sale for $10 down from $14.99. I can’t even explain why I bought them. Oh, of course I can: (1) rainbow (2) sparkle (3) Hello Kitty.

For Henry, a new dinosaur shirt, not on sale but only $5.00, and my policy on dinosaur shirts is “Buy them.” And pants on clearance 50% off, $5.00.

I did not want a little pot of lip balm for $3.44 when I could get something very similar for a dollar. But for $.84, yes I will try antioxidants/E/aloe/chamomile/mint, thank you.

Boring but satisfying: $2.54 tape refill for my chicken, marked down to $.63.

Not a huge clearance, but I have trouble resisting girl stuff: pink patent leather shoes, $6.98 down from $9.99.

Four new hand towels, $.98 each down from $3.99 each.

My favorite shower gel, $2.50 down from $5.00.

Not even on sale, but I’m hoping these foot supporty thingies will help my shins to hurt less when I walk/jog. I have arches that totally flatten when I stand up, and these supports have low, medium, and high snap-ins so you (or rather _I_) can choose the one that feels best.

This set of 4 bowls was only $1.99 to begin with, but it’s pleasing to get them for $.48: we have another set (the yellows/greens set) that we used as berry-picking/outdoors bowls last summer, but there are 7 of us and only 4 bowls, so it’s nice to have more.

I didn’t even go to Target today and yet, I’m feeling a little better now. Also, your Target has much better clearance stuff than my Target does. The best I can do is a few of the magnet notepads for the fridge for $1.

YOU ARE MY IDOL Switzle. Not only do you shop Target clearance, as do I, you find super cool stuff! I bought the pink patent leather shoes for my 2 year old daughter, I thought they were a bit “off” colored, but everyone compliments us on them, and she loves to wear them.

Ooooh! I am feeling a little bit of envy right now! The closest Target is 2 plus hour away. If I had to list the things I miss most about living nearer to a larger city, Target would be in my top 3. Nice job bargain shopping (one of my absolute favorite hobbies).

If it wasn’t physically impossible for me to make it to Target before they closed I would drive there RIGHT NOW for a) that tree print and b) the bowls. We’ve been feeding the kid yogurt off a plate, after an unfortunate incident with one of our real bowls.

    And because I like trees.

I think you have either superb clearance sleuthing skills or a superb clearance-ing Target. Or mostly likely a combination of both. I never can find good things on clearance at mine. Even the clothes section rarely turns up anything.

Elizabeth must be tiny. My daughter’s a year younger and very small for her age and she’s wearing size 8 and 9 shoes depending on the brand.

Or maybe that’s a picture from the web site and not the actual shoes you bought, in which case, disregard.

Oh how I miss Target. All we have here is like a mini-ghetto-walmart with 1/25 of the selection and prices 4x anything you’d find in Target. I’m living vicariously through you right now.

Awesome scores! I need some Target therapy. I had dollar store therapy last night.

Tip for the arch supports = start on the LOW clip in and work your way up. I thought it’d be MORE support to start w/ the highest clip when I had these and ouch, ouch, ouch. I wore them to work and by the time I got home I wanted to cry.

I never see these kinds of deals at my Target.

My daughter (6yo) needs new shoes. I told her they have to be “practical.” Her: “What does that mean? … “Oh, nevermind. I know. No sparkles.”

I have to add to my comment because I just reread it, and I sound like my grandmother.

The shoes have to be practical because (a) my kids really only ever have one main pair of shoes at a time (and they always come from Target), and (b) they go on half-day hikes every Friday at their awesome hippie school.

I’m sorry, I know it would be nice for you guys to have more of those bowls, but I’m going to need you to send them to me, stat. THEY ARE PURPLE AND I NEED THEM. Why doesn’t MY Target have those bowls? And for FORTY-EIGHT CENTS?

I have to echo others: What the flip is up with your awesome Target? I have TWO Targets in my town, but even with their powers combined they don’t come close to yours! So jealous AND so happy for your amazing fruitful therapy.

I am jealous of your girl’s girly shoes! My girl wants a pair of black Chuck Taylor Converse Hi-Tops. Sparkly Hello Kitty shoes will NEVER exist in our household.

    Sigh!

StephLove- All my kids have Unusually Small Feet. Elizabeth is tall for her age (95th %ile) but…size 9 feeties. Although I probably should have gotten size 10, because she said they felt snuggish.

I had Target therapy yesterday too. I got 2 sets of cups that match your bowls. The pink/purple set and the blue/yellow set. Also on awesome clearance. Also got lots of little dollar spot stuff that was on clearance for 50 cents. Stocking stuffers!

Wow, Elizabeth has such cute teeny feet! (Lucy wears an 11, but is big for her age) I love the pink shoes, and in fact bought them for Liv at full price back in August. I spent my lunch hour at Target shopping clearance yesterday. I scored some hard-bottomed Birkenstock (esque) slippers (that I wore to work today—they are SHOES) for $7.96, a stripey cardigan for 6.98, shirt and pants for Bud at $6 each, not clearance but on sale, and some Hello Kitty glitter pens for Lucy for $1. I love that dollar section, man!

I am in love with the print. It is so pretty. SO SO pretty.

I will pretend it was me that got all this neat-o stuff.

I really love the handtowels and the chicken (even though you didn’t get that today.) And the print. Man, that is pretty.

Ooooh, so fun! I had some Target therapy yesterday also. I scored those nice, metal Sigg water bottles — the .5 liter size for $3.98. They are usually $15.99. I got them for our children (4 of them) and I think I’ll try to stop buying juice boxes. I am going to try to score more at another Target in our city so each child can have 2 to rotate. Shopping therapy AND social consciousness (hehe)!

(BTW – I happened upon them in a very strange location — near the car stuff. I was looking at replacement cat mats for my vehicle and found clearance stuff. Weird.)

I almost bought those towels and those bowls last therapy Target trip. There’s just something about a spectrum of colors that makes a day a bit brighter, isn’t there. Love to you from me!

Man, that’s good. I’m a Canadian who rarely gets to check out a Target, but am always curious. I got to one on Wednesday, and sure didn’t see any good clearance items…in fact I came away (shhhhh) disappointed.
O Swistle, what am I missing??

Target therapy, that’s totally what I need. Dire, dire need I tell ya. Unfortunately that would require a) Target funds in the budget, and b) a Target as awesome on the clearance prices & selection as yours is!

I LOVE target therapy and I have to give you props for being a professional shopper. I wish you lived near me so you could help me do Sophie’s Santa shopping.

Speaking of, how DO you do santa shopping for all of your kids? Online? In store? Coupons? Buy throughout the year? Tips + strategy please; ’tis the season.
