Happiness Throughout the Land

There was one week of hissing. It was especially pitiful when Benchley was saying “Mrow? Prrrroww?” and the new kitten was hissing in reply.

Then there was one week of passing each other in the hallway indifferently. Maybe a sniff or two, but no friendliness.

And now there is this:

And I am SO GLAD! Because part of the reason we GOT the new kitten is that Benchley wanted so badly to cuddle and play with another cat but Mouse was having none of it, and the vet said sometimes a kitten would help with that. And then we got a kitten and it seemed like just another major rejection for poor Benchley. But now! Oh, there is happiness throughout the land!

Aw, shucks. So damn adorable! So, so, so purrrrfect. Ha, couldn’t resist. ;)

Also, the question is, does Teh Kitten have a NAME yet?

Also, totally unrelated, will you please go to Blogher with me next year? Pah-lease? (Something my personality test said is that I am so extroverted that I make introverts feel at ease and slightly extroverted themselves…)

Cayt- STILL NO NAME! I finally ordered pet tags that just say “Thistle Family cat” with our address and phone number, to take the pressure off.

How freaking cute are they!?! I think you should call her Pigeon then you could call her Pig for short. Oh or Osprey. Ack! I’m dying, if she were mine I would name her Ish Kabibble…..and this is why my husband has nightmares about me naming the children.

Awwww, they are LOVAHs!! My cats were the same at first; we had Sebastian about a year before we got Oswald. I thought for sure that Sabbie would kill the kitten, but after about a week, they adjusted and are in lovey dovey love…(they are 10 and 9 now respectively)

I am super-jealous. I’ve never had cats snuggle together like that. The closest I get is when two of my cats will lie down head-to-head, and take turns grooming each other. However, this inevitably leads to bites, swats, and general mayhem, so while it’s entertaining, it’s not nearly as cute as full-on snuggling!

Thanks for sharing the pics–you made my day!
