1. Paul is watching Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure with the older boys this evening. I will not get sucked in. I will not get sucked in. I will not get sucked in. WYLD STALLYNS!!!!
2. I had a Bill & Ted centerfold (non-naked variety) when I was in high school. One side was Bill. The other side was Ted. Sometimes I thought one was cuter, and sometimes I CHANGED MY MIND. Now I think Rufus is cutest.
3. Not that I’m watching it. No.
4. May I recommend donating blood? It makes you feel like an awesome person. Plus, there is a bit of a natural high, via lightheadedness and the cookies/juice they make you eat afterward. Whooof!
5. Caesar is “a salad dressing dude.” Joan of Arc is “Noah’s wife.” NOT THAT I’M WATCHING IT.
6. We have named the cat. His name is Benchley. The children are unhappy with this choice, and we are disregarding them. PBBBBBBBTTTTTTHHHHHHTTTT, children!
7. Remember when I was searching for a non-ticking clock? I chose one:
Infinity Instruments Orange Retro Wall Clock. It was a bit of a risk, because it doesn’t SAY it’s non-ticking. But it didn’t have a second hand, and I liked it well enough to use it elsewhere in the house if it ticked, so I ordered it—and it doesn’t tick! Yay! I might have chosen it in aqua, but I thought orange would look better in the boys’ bedroom. Maybe later I’ll get the aqua one for the kitchen.
8. Every spring I keep a close eye on the Traverse Bay chocolate-covered DRIED cherries I love more than any other candy. Because every spring, Amazon.com clears them out before summer makes it too hot to store and ship them. And lo, they have gone on clearance: $18 for a 4-pound box. I bought eight pounds. WHAT?
9. Be excellent to each other. Party on, dudes.
Can I tell you that I love you even more now that you’ve posted a dieting post followed by buying 8lbs of candy? Because that’s EXACTLY something I would do.
I wish we could be brick and mortar friends.
Erica- I think we should call it 8 pounds of DRIED FRUIT. Nutritious!
It will be totally bogus if you don’t watch it.
:)
I just watched that the other day and had almost forgotten how AWESOME Bill S. Preston, Esquire & Ted “Theodore” Logan are. “Strange things are afoot at the Circle K” – AWESOME.
I’m proud to say that I introduced my husband to that movie when we got married. Wow, we need to watch it again. Yes way, Ted!
My uncle Jono took me and my sister and brother to see that movie in the theaters. We were the only ones there, so we got to run around and change seats and giggle loudly.
Twas most excellent.
You make me laugh!!!!
Thanks for forcing me to purchase 4 lbs of dried fruit.
My first apartment after I moved out on my own had a circle K on the corner. It was the first time I’d ever seen one and I always thought of Bill & Ted every time I saw it.
Those who pay the bills name the cat. Phbbbt indeed to the children!
I love that movie!!!! I love socrates! My mom loves the harry and david cherry things, I wonder if she would like the clearance ones??? Or maybe I would. Can’t go wrong at a price like that.
I had no idea those dried cherries were sold on Amazon. My MIL lives in Traverse City and brings those down whenever she visits.
I feel so special now.
Lippy- I think she would! Or at least, I’ve tried the Harry & David ones and I prefer the Traverse Bay ones.
Ah the young Keanu. I love the waterpark scenes in that movie!
Love that movie! “Be excellent to each other”. Classic! What ever happened to Alex Winter anyway (the blonde guy)?
Thanks for supporting our Michigan economy by buying cherries :)
Ahhh Bill and Ted…they did have an excellent adventure. I’ve always been fond of the game scene in Bogus Journey. Best 3 out of 5…5 out of 7?
OMG, your boys are going to be quoting that movie now. I hope you don’t start to hate it. ;) (HOW I loved it as a teen! Fun memory blitz you just did there!)
I *just* bought that DVD this week!!! I can’t wait to watch it with my kids! I own the soundtrack and those are some of my favorite songs.
San Dimas High School Football Rules!! I love Bill and Ted…
I hate to dash your hopes Swistle, but I have that exact same clock in Aqua and it ticks. It doesn’t have a second hand, but it still makes the noise. :(
Sara- How weird! The orange one doesn’t. It’s okay if the aqua one does (although, why the heck? they’re the same clock, just different colors) since it would be for the kitchen, not for the tick-aversive child’s room.
Ahhh ticking clocks! I hate that. I remember one clock in my room being like that. The battery was promptly removed and never put back in. Take that stupid ticking clock.
I know! So strange that the orange one wouldn’t tick and a different color would. But So glad that you found a clock for the tick aversive child. :)
Aqua is in my kitchen too!
