OH CRAP. I mean, Hi! Guess what? When I was getting out the baby girl clothes for the giveaway I just chose winners for, I found the giveaway I meant to do for Valentine’s Day. I mean, it’s not too late, it’s more that having two giveaways back to back feels like it would be pretty boring, especially if you win neither one.
Well, poor planning, failure to anticipate, lost track of what month it was, etc., etc., let’s get on with it. It’s winter anyway and that’s a good time to get packages in the mail, and I continue to crave the mood boost of sending packages in the mail.
Last year I did a shopping post about my clearance Valentine’s Day haul, and I got some extras of that stuff thinking it would make a good Valentine’s Day giveaway for the next year. Which it sure would! Assuming you like pink and red clearance heart crap! Which I DO, very much!
I liked Valentine’s Day so much more when I was single, by the way. I liked to celebrate it in that pleasingly morose way where you buy a big heart-shaped box of chocolates and a large pepperoni pizza and you eat them all by yourself or with a friend while watching John Cusack and/or Hugh Grant movies. Awwww yeahhhhh.
Now I like it for the candy and cute decorative items I buy on clearance afterward.
Anyway! This box is a jumble of misc. Valentine’s Day stuff. There are some plastic plates as shown in that shopping post, and one of the bird coffee mugs so I really hope it doesn’t break. Heart/bird dishtowels and heart coasters. Heart/bird/owl/turtle paper napkins. Oven mitts in heart pattern and in pink/red stripe. Lovey-dovey googly-eye heart stickers. Oh, you don’t want to scroll alllll the way up and click allll the way through to that post? I understand. Here are some photos:
(That is the WHOLE HEAP of towels/mitts, which I’ve since reduced significantly for my own use and in other care packages.)
So anyway, that is the gist! Package of Valentine’s Day stuff! Mailed to you from me! I hope in time for any morose sitting-around you might have planned!
You have to have a U.S. (or APO/FPO) mailing address for me to use (one of these days we are going to have to have a contest where NO ONE with a U.S. address is eligible, just to fair things up a bit), but that’s it. Leave a comment saying whatever you want (Do you have Valentine’s Day plans? Which do you like better, the color pink or the color red?) and I’ll pick a winner on Tuesday the 9th so I can ship it Wednesday. Or perhaps it is not necessary to specify when I’m shipping it. Here, let me show you the hours my post office is open.
I like pink better than red, various shades of it anyway. I love red on my girls though, because I get super sick of pink on them. We don’t have VD plans, although we intend to go to dinner sometime soon, just not on VD – I think it’s too crazy in restaurants right around the day.
Were are going to have a treat and try to cook
prime rib for ourselves and my stepdaughter and
her boyfriend and my 7 year old will probably want a regular old steak. A nice night at home
and then a holiday off of work for me on Monday. Sounds lovely doesn’t it?
I get to spend Valentine’s day watching Nascar on TV with my boyfriend, but on the bright side i’m leaving for a Vegas girl’s trip the next day so I will have that to look forward to and pack for will watching a bunch of guys turn left for HOURS and HOURS.
I am going to bake chocolate cupcakes with my daughters, and frost them pink, for Valentine’s Day but also belatedly for my birthday, which is on Monday the 8th. I would love some cute Valentine’s swag to make up for the fact that I have to bake my own birthday cake, belatedly.
No Valentine’s plans. I’m a little jaded this year, so I’m of the “Valentine’s is a Hallmark made holiday– screw this” variety.
It’s lovely, really.
No plans. My husband started a new job and will be working, which is a good thing-to have a job.
I love the color red.
So fun! I like those towels especially.
No V-Day plans. I’m pretty much over it by now. THANK GOD.
I always hit the Valentine’s clearance on the 15th because my daughter’s birthday is the 19th. She hasn’t yet caught on why her birthday is always red/pink heart themed LOL
I love the Valentine’s clearance stuff from Target! This year for Valentine’s Day we are taking the oldest to Medieval Times and then both to Disney on Ice. :)
You have one of the most generous souls, Swistle! Snuggling in with my boyfriend for Valentine’s day. Like pink AND red, not picky. :-)
My husband and I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s day, but not for any particular reason. I do love the post-holiday candy sales, though.
In college, in honor of being single on Valentine’s day, my friends and I would dye our hair black, then go drinking.
Oh I love this stuff!! I don’t have Vday plans but I think my husband might have something up his sleeve. The man can NEVER pull off a surprise. This time, my mom told me that he had told her about this thing at his job and then he mentioned that she had told him about something going on at church. They don’t talk outside gatherings so something’s up and the surprise is blown again!
“Let me show you the hours my post office is open.” Ha ha Double HA! I love you, Swistle!
Actually, for Valentine’s Day I for some reason felt kind this year and I am hosting “Dessert by Candlelight” for some of my family (sisters, sister-in-laws, brothers, brothers-in-laws, parents, aunt and uncle). I am making 5 desserts and setting up card tables all around my house and will be serving wine and dessert for 2 hours while they converse with their significant others. My hubby has generously volunteered to keep the kids upstairs so no one has to arrange childcare and wah-la! It’s a free date night!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Red, definately Red.
Our plans? Absolutely NONE of the romantic nature for hubby and me, because he just isn’t a romantic kind of guy and because of the previously scheduled event that I have to participate in.
Our lovely religious education director, who by the way is SINGLE, completely unattached and has no kids or other family, has arranged a Sponsor/Candidate meeting for the confirmation class on Valentine’s Day! SO. My best friend, our best-friends-since-preschool daughters, and I (we’re sponsoring each other’s daughter!) will all be going to a meeting at church from 6:00 – 9:00pm on Valentine’s Day. We’ve all called the director and asked to meet earlier in the day, or even on another day, but she is adamant about NOT changing the date and time. *sigh* She’s the kind of person for whom you pray will someday marry and have a dozen kids who are JUST LIKE HER. LOL!!
oh me me me me! I’ve never won a Swistle care package and I remember these last year and HOW CUTE they were.
My husband is taking me to dinner on V day. It’ll be our first night out in awhile without the wee one.
My favorite color is red! In fact we painted our kitchen cabinets red when we moved into our house. I think its very cheerful.
I like red more than pink, and our valentine’s day plans are kind of up in the air. If I have a baby by then we will probably order takeout and stay home. If no baby we might go to a movie or out for dinner. I’m due the 16th, and this is my first, so I’m expecting to still be pregnant.
I like pink and red….and I love that mug!
– Kathleen (akprinz at msn dot com)
Dude I know I just won something TODAY but my daughter MUST eat off that adorable section dish with the owls and turtles and HEART THAT SAYS LOVE (where the mac and cheese will go, quite obviously). SO CUTE! I’M DYING!!
Oh, I want that PLATE with the BIRDS. And the MUG! Love!!!
For Valentine’s Day this year I am getting a massage. Actually I get one every three weeks and this time it just happens to fall on Valentine’s Day. But still – massage!
I love red. And all the heartsy-fartsy stuff out for now!
Those little turtles are ADORABLE!! I heart them….
That being said, I wasn’t very big on pink until my daughter was born. I try to dress her in other colors most of the time and she looks very nice in red.
We are supposed to go camping on Valentine’s weekend but only because it is also President’s Day weekend so the boys have Monday out of school and we always clear out of town in those times. I imagine we will take a liesurely stroll through the woods at some point but due to a very hefty hospital bill we have tolod each other not to buy antyhing huge. I bought him a giant Hershey’s Kiss and he will get me a large heart shaped box of chocolates because I love them! We are getting the kids stuff, but it’s normal I-really-need-a-reason-to-buy-this-for-kid-X-and-oh-look!-Valentine’s-Day-is-coming!-type stuff.
What an adorable giveaway! I love pink better than red…I’m a girly girl at heart! We have plans to visit a local winery on V-Day weekend and attend their Valentine’s event where they will be handing out wine and chocolate. That’s about it. We’ll probably spend the rest of the weekend at home.
Oooooh, pretty!
The bird items are so so cute! I’ll be so sad when this cute little bird phase is over.
I will be packing this Valentines Day b/c we just bought a house. Nothing says love like a mortgage!
It’s Baby’s first Valentine’s Day! We will probably all go out to eat as a family. And I will dress her in one of her heart outfits.
I LOVE heart items. Love. I had that JC Penney heart wallpaper/bedding as a child and am still not over it, apparently.
Love birds are so cute!
a) i love the phrase “fair it up,” hah
b) i am almost NEVER attached during valentine’s day, so i’m used to doing silly things like going to hooters with single friends. except this year i have a boyfriend, so.. um… i’m making him to go hooters with me and my friends.
Pink! All the way.
And this year, our church is doing a great big fundraising Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction to help our youth group travel to the National Lutheran Youth Gathering…and I’m the person leading that trip…so…I guess we’re going to a Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction. :)
i am so sad not to win the adorable girl clothes that i can hardly get my fingers to type (wah, wah, wah…).
just kidding. anyway, my ENTIRE! family (3 kids and hubby) will be out of town for valentines. is that good or bad? i just don’t know. i’m looking forward to the break but nervous about being lonely. i think that that bird mug would keep me company and make me happy. is that shallow?
melanie(dot)myatt(at)gmail(dot)com
My mom volunteered to take the baby for the night on V-day, so we might actually end up doing something fun and (maybe) romantic!
Oh, I love Valentine’s stuff! I have that mug and cherish it. No, seriously. I am having to restrain myself from getting the new Valentine’s Day mugs from Target this year. (I don’t want to pay full price! But I want one so badly!)
No real plans here, but I did tell my husband I want some cute pajamas. Not like lingerie stuff, but just new and cute.
I’m going to the zoo with my guy on Valentines Day because it is free and the lion house is amazing. Romantic, no, but awesome.
Im a clearance after the event shopper too. But Ive NEVER seen birds and turtles that darn cute before! So cute!
I don’t have any Valentine’s Day plans, but I love red and pink and hearts and birds and everything cutesy and more appropriate for seven-year-olds, so it’s my kind of holiday.
No big Valentine’s day plans… I do hope my hubby gets me some chocolate though… any excuse for chocolate :)
I LOVE the color red, and therefore…Valentine’s day decorations have a special place in my heart. For Valentine’s day we will be making special trip to see my parents out of town for my dad’s 65th birthday on the 13th.
Pink! I love the color pink!
And I’ll be babysitting this V-day. :)
My entire family (me, spouse, and four kids from 8 mos to 8 yrs) will wake up at a state campground on Valentine’s morning. Oh holy god. I’m pretty sure we don’t even own a tent.
I like very very light pink over red. But I am in love with that mug. Truly.
I love the birds! and I love novelty towels too hehe. No plans for us so far. No preferences, maybe pink? but my car is red and I like red a lot. Anything else?
so cute! loove pink AND red!
Red definitely. I am not a pink girl. I am totally loving that turtle plate!
No plans. I’m thinking about maybe making a nice dinner, but right now there’s just as good a chance we’ll be heading out for beer & wings. We like to keep it casual.
omg – my comment worked!! I fixed my computer! Hallelujah!
I tend to lean a little more toward pink than red, although I enjoy Valentine’s day for the opportunity to go all out and mix them together. I LOVE those birds on the mug/plate/coaster! I am extremely excited about having Monday after V-day off this year (state holiday!), and we will hopefully be moving into our new house to celebrate. Best Valentine’s day ever!
I also love post Valentine’s clearance. In fact just this afternoon my 4yo started making valentines for his class using the STACKS of clearance stickers from the past few years. I don’t care so much about him layering 5 stickers when I know the packs were about 10 cents each!
I love giveaways! It’s the greedy jerk in me.
The first couple of years we were married (aka pre-kids), my husband and I took my widowed grandmother out to eat on Valentine’s Day. Then we bought a house three days before VD the next year, so my husband surprised me with a meal he brought there (even though the heat wasn’t on yet and we froze our butts off), and – geez, I don’t even remember last year. At any rate, we’re planning to take her out again this year. And I’m trying to think of fun VD traditions we can start with our kids, but I’m drawing a blank.
Oh yeah, and sometime during the weekend my brother and I are supposed to go to the theater to watch the Percy Jackson movie. We’re cool like that. I think it’ll be my first theater experience since “Batman Begins.”
I guess I’d choose pink if I had to. I’m sure I look equally smashing in both.
I hope for Valentine’s Day that I will get a full night of uninterrupted…. SLEEP. :) Love all the cute Valentiney stuff! :)
No big Valentine plans. Since it’s a Sunday, we have church activities and small group. My husband does have plans to take me (and probably our son too- how romantic- HA!) out for dinner sometime over the weekend, though.
And pink, I like pink better.
I don’t know where you live, but I’m sending you a snowy hello from Indianapolis! The good news is that my employer sent us all home a couple hrs early to all for a crappy commute to be less crappy. Good to be safe and sound at home. Love your blogs and even though I don’t have children, I love reading about yours and LOVE baby naming. I wish I could name other people’s children! Anyway, keep up the good work.
I bought an ebelskiver cookbook after realizing that I only use my ebelskiver pan once/year, on Christmas morning, so we are having an ebelskiver smorgasbord for Valentine’s this year.
Red.
Hope your blues pass soon.
I like pink and red.
We (our family of 6 — 2 parents, 4 kids) spend every Valentine’s with grandparents (my parents only :o) ) at a Greek restaurant that we dearly love. When my babies were babies (the youngest is now 3) the owner would tote them around with her so I could enjoy my meal without a fussy, wiggly baby on my lap.
I love that plate with the birds on it. My daughter (one, and only) is really into birds all of a sudden.

I love pink and red, so I hope I get a girl one day! I love Valentine’s Day mostly for a) the candy and b) making Valentines. It’s a tradition in my family to get each other small valentines (my grandma did it for her kids, my mom did it for us, and now I’m a mom!) I think it’s much sweeter and more fun to celebrate it as a family holiday instead of a romantic holiday. :)
See above. Why does it put in “amp;” — totally annoying.
1hot&tiredmama!!!
SIGH! We are getting 30 inches of snow here in the DC area over the next two days. I am from FLORIDA. A Swistle care package would cheer up my frozen little heart.
My daughter would adore that divided plate!
I think you must live near a super-magic-Target – because I very rarely find even one or two cute items on clearance. Thanks for sharing!!
I like pink and red TOGETHER.
Oh can I please win? Please? Did you know that I collect mugs? That mug would make an adorable addition to my collection.
Valentine’s Day will be a NASCAR day for us, which is fine, and Hub almost always cooks me a fancy dinner for the day. I’ll do some crafty crap with the kids too since they are home.
Also, I am a PINK kind of girl.
Thank you for another fun giveaway, Swistle, and I think I am eligible for this one, seeing as how I did not have a baby girl in the last 5 minutes for your last one.
I love the colors PINK and RED together for V-Day only, and the more the better!
I loved V-Day best when I could dress my daughter (now 17, still a cute dresser, but she obvi dresses herself) in fun, presh V-Day clothes. She had SO many every year. But it was a bit stressful having her get “enough wear” out of those outfits, and then it would stress me out to put her in the outfit too much BEFORE V-Day or even a day after, although I still would. But let’s not start going down that road right now.
Now I have two little boys, also, but they don’t like to wear V-Day clothes, which is fine by me because they mostly involve skirts and dresses and tights anyhow, plus notice again the stress I mentioned above.
I also like V-Day because my husband and I go out for a fun dinner ALONE and use forks, knives, and napkins, and each of us cuts our own food and drinks a festive adult beverage.
Thanks again, Swistle :)

i love pink and red…i can never choose! and as for the day, i am going to make cupcakes with my daughters and watch sappy movies with my husband…
I love that mug. Not sure if I have V Day plans. I’m due to give birth that day, so hopefully I’ll have a baby (BEFORE then, preferably)
Oh, that mug! Adorable!
I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THAT MUG!! and i love red AND PINK! pink is my fav, so of course i have a little boy and am prego with little boy # 2..soo it would be nice to have en excuse to get some pink, dont you think!?
I love that mug! It would make my morning cup of decaf-because-the-baby-HATES-caffiene cup of tea so much cheerier!!
I love red too!
As for Valentine’s Day – I used get takeout and sit at home, watching TV. Now I’m going to hug the Girl and the Boy and snuggle my sweetie, and get takeout and stay home watching TV.
Red and pink. How about you?
I’m making my husband a ridiculous chocolate/chocolate chip (chocolate covered) cake and having a really big slice!
I share you love of pink valentines clearance heart crap!
I’ll be flying solo. Boyfriend manages a restaurant, so… yeah. I won’t see him that weekend. We do have plans for a nice dinner the next weekend. I figure this works better anyway since we won’t have to battle the crowd.
I love the mug with the little bird on it. Cute! My plans for Valentines day are to have heartburn, take a nap, have more heartburn and then go to bed early. Gestating makes me not so much into the romance.
We are going to have a fun day with the kids starting with heart shaped, pink pancakes, heart shaped sandwiches for lunch with heart shaped cookies or brownies, and dinner by candlelight for us all. My daughter loves pink, so I am going to say red, just to contradict her (because that is what her little 6 yr old self would do to me!).
Whooo! Valentine’s Day! I’m going to a bridal shower that afternoon, which is cute. I also adore the bird mug and hope it doesn’t break, even if it’s not going to meeeee.
I am so excited for Valentines Day! My daughter’s first birthday is on 2/13 and we plan to make it a Valentine’s Day extravaganza. I am sure she’d love eating her first piece of cake off one of those completely cute plates!
Well this fun giveaway just brought me out of lurkerdom! Love all those cute things.
PLLLLEEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEE do a giveaway for people who absolutely don’t live in the US not even a little bit! Your packages look so cute and lovely and it would brighten my day/week/month/year to get one… but I can’t even enter coz I live in France… *sniff* *sniff* boo hoo woe is me
I’m not eligible for the giveaway, but I just wanted to say I used to do that when I was single – watch John Cusack movies (usually Say Anything) and eat heart shaped chocolates (but not pepperoni pizza. I think I mostly just ate those Cool Ranch Doritos).
Valentine’s day is going to be spent flying back from a girls’ weekend in San Diego. I.Am.Excited.
For the first time in many years we finally have Valentines day plans. We are leaving the day after for Las Vegas, it will be our first vacation alone since before we had kids, we are both so excitted, I feel like a kids countting down the days until school is out!
Definitely red.
I enjoy Valentine’s Day for the excuse to make a good meal and finish up with creme brulee. Yummy AND I get to use my kitchen torch! I also used to love celebrating Feb. 15 … half-price chocolate day! A drug store near where I used to live always greatly overstocked on their candy so there was tons for sale. Sadly, we only have 1 grocery store here and they often just sell out before the 14th.
I have to work on Valentine’s Day for some reason. I’m not sure why because I never ever work on Sundays, but whatever, I can use the extra money.
There’s a flower shop near me that has something about a Valentine’s day special on their sign, but they spell it “Valantine” which annoys the crap out of me every time I see it.
we are announcing our pregnancy to our families on Valentines day! I’m actually sending out valentines in the mail so hopefully they will get them before since it’s on Sunday this year. I really want to make some sugar cookies, but I’m afraid they will all get eaten by this pregnant woman!
the valentines will have 2 big hearts representing my husband and I and then 4 little hearts for the 3 kids and the one on the way. aww cute!
I just bought this year’s Valentines towels from Target earlier this week!
How fun!!!
I prefer pink to red for myself (red hair and pale skin) but love red on my daughter.
I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day in Indianapolis at a motorcycle dealer expo for work. I haven’t been with my family on V-Day for the last few years, so I hide gifties around the house for them to find while I’m gone.
No valentine’s day plans. Very cute giveaway!
We don’t have any valentine’s day plans besides possibly going out for lattes/hot chocolate at the fancy coffee place nearby, but now I’m thinking chocolate & John Cusack/Hugh Grant movies sounds even better.
Aww, what cute Valentine decor….I think I love the cute stuff more than the actual holiday :). We don’t have any big plans at my house, probably just renting a movie and cooking a yummy dinner (to avoid the crowds).
I’m afraid we do the childish Valentines around here. We’ll bake hear-shaped cookies and decorate them and maybe a few more treats, but otherwise, it’ll be pretty much ignored. Oh yeah, and we may babysit Evie so Jared and Joanna can go out.
Swiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiistle! Send me some Valentine’s Day stuff, please! This is my first single Valentine’s Day in four years, so I’m planning to do something really indulgent for myself. And I love pink! And the Valentine’s gear at Target is my favorite.
I’ll be in Chicago witnessing the baptism of my God daughter on Valentin’s Day! Red over pink for sure.
I love this stuff! Thank you for the giveaway!
I LOVE the birdie mug and the birdie plates. LOVE. Almost bought them, at full price, last year, in fact. (Damn logical voice in my head saying it wasn’t “necessary”!)
So, hey, pick me!
I love those plates. So cute. I like pink better than red. No big plans around here. Lots of heart shaped fun for the kids and chocolate for me.
I want! I want! You’ve totally addicted me to Target Clearance. I don’t usually find as many things as you do, but the prices! Wheeeeeee!
We’re hoping to get a sitter for the small one and have a night to ourselves somewhere local and historic. Hopefully this really cute bed and breakfast place a town or two away.
Not a big fan of Valentine’s Day…but a huge fan of the adorable plates and bird mug!
I love Target stuff, especially their holiday stuff. We usually just cook a nice dinner for Valentine’s Day-our anniversary is 4 days after so that tends to be our big event day in Feb.
I love those turtles…love them :)
Awww! I remember you posting pics of that stuff last year, and rushing out to my local Target where they had exactly NONE of it left. I think my Valentine’s Day plan this year will involve chocolate, but that’s really as far as I’ve gotten.
My birthday is 6 days after Valentine’s day, so we usually do something for one but not the other. I have no idea yet what our plans are or when we’re planning to do them, but I think my husband is going to take me out to dinner somewhere. Money is tight, so it’s not going to be too extravagant. But it’s out 2nd Valentine’s day as a married couple, so whatever he does is wonderful!
I love pink. I love love. And I love your positive energy – you are an oasis of joy here on the web! :-)
I think that i like pink better than red, but it’s kind of a toss-up. It really depends on what the color is ON, you see. A pink sofa? Ew. A red sofa? Kind of awesome sometimes.
We don’t usually do very much for Valentine’s Day, mostly because my daughter’s birthday is the day before. I usually plan and plan for her birthday, and then i’m all thrown off when – Whoa! Valentine’s Day already? Where did that come from?
But those owl plates are just SO CUTE i can’t bear it.
I’m literally stuck. In my house. We live in the sticks and snow plows laugh at us. I’m in.
First, PINK is the best. Second, I really have to have that mug. And third, I am eleventy bajillion weeks pregnant and in dire need of some cheering up. I also like to get things in the mail. The end.
We are having a V-day party for the kids. Would love some supplies!
Oh I love owls! So darling!

See, I sort of quit blogging for Feb because my life is weird right now, but on a fluke I clicked over here. My sister got one of those bird mugs last year and it broke ( the bird ) and I have been trying to replace it for her. And shameless begging, it would be awesome to give her now because her dog just died.
For VDay we are running in TWO 5ks and then eating pizza and drinking beer.
We are running TWO 5 Ks and then eating food and chocolate!!!
I am recently single (by my choice) and am oddly looking forward to Valentine’s Day. I think my opinion about this is going to drastically change on the 14th, but for now I have a cute new sweater & a cute new top I’m planning to wear, and I have exactly one single friend that I’m hoping to go out with, although I have only hung out with her once before, and have yet to propose this to her. We’ll see! Would love some of your cute Target stuff!!
Oh… ordering a pizza, cozied up on the couch, watching a great movie… that’s the BEST way to celebrate the holiday. Whether with your partner or alone!
Oh, I love all the Valentine’s crap, it makes my son smile.
=)
a) I think that mug might be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, b) I like Valentine’s day if only for the excuse to eat copious amounts of chocolate, though this year I’m running a 5k race to pre-cancel the calories I am sure to ingest, and c) I want a fun package from you!
If you understood my burning need to increase my melamine collection, it would be clear why there is a drool-dampness on my collar right now.
I feel silly admitting this, but I have been looking forward to this giveaway! I love that mug and those plates!!!
On Valentine’s Day, I will be flying home from a job interview for a job I REALLY want on the other side of the country.
Still can’t believe how stinkin’ cute my baby boy is. He’s too good to be true! You SAID say whatever I want.
I like to buy candy for my kids and I like the pinky pink stuff.
Ooooh–excited to get to enter a contest, since I don’t have a baby girl! I like red better than pink. I got so sick of pink when DD was little that it started to make me want to gag. It was like a bubblegum factory exploded in her closet. I like it in small doses, though–with green or brown or red.
I like red. Pink–not so much. And, so far, I have no plans for Valentines Day.
I’d like to enter! V-Day plans – having a baby! I’m due on 2/15!
My 2.5 son’s favorite color is pink. A slightly unfortunate choice according to my husband, although at his age, the only concern is arguments with the girls over the pink cupcake at school. Anyway, Valentine’s day is the one day a year I will fully indulge his pink obsession.
My mom happens to collect turtles – she would absolutely freak if I got her a turtle-themed valentine’s day present!
I prefer red (see: my house), but b/c I have two girls, we are inundated with pink. Now that my oldest is 4, I’m sure that V Day will become her favorite holiday. We have no plans for the day, b/c we are boring like that. But because my birthday is 11 days later, the celebrations tend to get smushed together anyway.
Love the turtle/bird mug…hope whoever receives it doesn’t find it broken, either. Too cute!
I have no Valentine’s Day plans, but my husband and I will probably go out to dinner the weekend after as our nod to romance in February. I work with children, though, and seeing all of them make Valentines is pretty adorable.
My Valentine’s Day plans involve a birthday party at a bounce-house place for my 3-year-old nephew. Romantic, huh?
No plans. :( With the husband still in Korea, we won’t be doing anything at all except maybe a Skype call on his lunch.
Red is way better than pink!
I prefer red for Valentine’s Day but pink the rest of the year. No plans for Valentine’s Day, but I am just hoping we won’t be snowed in any longer by then.
I can’t believe I have been reading long enough to remember when you bought the giveaway items. Loved the birdie mug (and still do)!
I remember when you bought those and a year later I still want them. :) My hubby says he’s cooking dinner for Valentine’s day. I haven’t bought him anything yet. I guess I better get moving…
OH I hope I win! I have one of those bird coffee cups from last year and it is my VERY favorite BUT my husband dropped it and the bird broke off which makes me sad. It is glued back on, but just not the same.
I heart pink.
I must be lacking a life. On Friday, I actually went into the school, found the other Kindergarten moms and asked how I could be involved with my 4th child’s class Valentine’s Day party. As a mom of 5, I am given a generous ‘pass’ by most of my kids’ teachers and the other parents as far as helping out with their classes goes. I must love Valentine’s Day. Or helping. Or kids. Or something. Anyway, consider me entered. :)
Im a pink person. And sadly, no plans for valentines day even though Im married. Or should that be BECAUSE Im married???
LOL when I read your descriptions of your previous and present loves of Valentine’s Day. Had to read it aloud for hubby. He didn’t laugh. I’m guessing it is because he realizes that the only way I’m getting a box of chocolates is if I buy it myself as well.
Oh well. Since we are a house full of boys over here, I’d better lean towards the red. What a fun giveaway! Love your blog. I need these laughs whenever I can get them.
my valentimes day plans: I’m baking chocolate chip cookies in the shape of I <3 U. Bought the shapes at target DB. And not just chocolate chips, but peanut butter and white chips, too. I'm romantic.
love target valentine stuff, but we don’t celebrate.
I love all your Valentine’s Day deals!
I like red better.
I’ve always liked your idea of doing nice things for the kids on Valentines, so my plans is to do a few special things for them next Sunday.
And I like Red. :)
I’ll be glad when Valentine’s Day is over so I can enjoy a marked reduction in KY commercials.
I love pink and red heart clearance stuff! :)
no plans for valentines… BUT! my little girls birthday is at the end of this month & she looooooves pink, pink, pink and more PINK so those cute plates she would love & I just adore the coffee mug… and the pile of towels would save me a load of laundry each week since i could just have more to choose from!
MUCH prefer red – can’t stand pink! I absolutely LOVE that mug, though!
I definitely like pink more than red. I don’t have much disposable income to spend on decorative things, so any holiday swag (for ANY holiday) is very much welcome around here. Our house looks perpetually like the middle of August — no seasonal decorations to be found!
I pretty much love that mug!
No Valentine’s Day plans here. We’re not really the mushy make plans and go on a date type. I actually laughed when I realized it was on a Saturday because then how will hubby remember at the last minute and buy a card and the last couple of wilting flowers at the grocery store on his way home, hehehehe… (btw, it’s cute when he does that, it really is, simply b/c i’m not expecting anything at all so it’s sweet).
It is my baby boy’s first Valentine’s Day :) He is almost 11 months old.
My birthday is eight days before Valentine’s Day, so I never put a lot of stock in V Day.
BUT! This year, I will (hopefully) find out the sex of my baby on the 16th, so February 14th becomes very exciting because it means I’m that much closer to knowing if it’s a boy or a girl! Yay!
I prefer pink. Especially on my 2 girls. They wear pink almost daily. For V day I will make heart cookies with my daughter for school and then I have to work because we own a restaurant. Happy Valentines Day to you.
I am helping my 6 year old granddaughter with a brunch for the family. She planned the entire event, from the menu to making invitations and a menu board. I love it!
Husband’s birthday in January, our anniversary on Feb. 13th and my birthday 9 days later makes for a busy Winter! This year we are celebrating everything by taking a small trip to Florida to watch Spring Training (Go Cards!).
Am I too late? I love the color combination of pink, red and white. Its not something that you can really do any other time of year but its very pleasing to me in the middle of winter to see so much nicely colored cheer.
I love pink, and I love red, and I love valentines. This year I am in the buy a box of chocolates for yourself and watch sappy movies by yourself catagory. A box of pizza would look so much better when sitting on cute turtle plates
When people abbreviate Valentine’s Day to VD, I think of something other than love.
Also, funny/cute story: my brother (who’s 25) was so concerned that my husband doesn’t usually get me anything for Valentine’s Day (he’s a CPA and it’s a busy time of year) that he bought chocolates and a card to give to my husband to give to me. And he was trying to figure out a way not to seem like a jerkwad for doing it (“here, buddy, you’re not a very good husband this time of year”), but then he was saved because my husband bought me a spa basket at an auction we went to on Saturday. I don’t get to know what’s in the basket until Valentine’s Day, but I told my brother, and he told me his plan. I think it’s great that he’s so concerned for my emotional health. Especially when he knows I have a great marriage.
Now, he’s going to give the chocolates and card to our dad to give to mom. Because dad CERTAINLY didn’t think about it.
Oh I just came by to see my chances of winning the mug and I saw my sister left a comment trying to win it for me too and it is just so NICE and now I feel happy so thanks.
Oh, that mug is so cute! My baby boy will be 8 months on on Saturday so I plan on loving him even more all weekend (and share some treats with my husband – that I will have made, how generous of me :) )
color PINK. plans not yet.
Oh fun! I prefer pink, and I don’t really have any Valentine’s plans yet, except that I think I’m going to get some of those amazing cupcakes from Starbucks and take them home for my kids on Friday night.
Pink is pretty! Hubby and I will probably celebrate Valentine’s Day Friday night. Cue fire in fireplace, snacky food and Wii bowling. Romantic I know.
