Congratulations! And do not even begin to think about how much money was represented in that bag. Because that’s what I do. It’s a self-defeating behavior–I cannot unspend the money.

Good job! Keep at it, rock star!

Plus: if you keep nail polish around FOREVER it just goes gooey and expires and all that, so you may as well toss it until you have some special event that you need a nail colour for.

I listened to the tips in the last comments section about using your vacuum attachments. At first it started as a vacuum “dusting” but turned into a 2 hour cleaning of the bedroom last night. I don’t even recognize the place!!!! I realized halfway through I should have taken a before/after. Whoops.

Sorry, but all I can think is “Ack! What about your toenails?”

On the other hand, treat yourself to a pedicure once in a while, and you’ll still come out ahead financially.

Very appropriate that it’s in a Target bag.

If there is a Sally Beauty store near you, they sell teeny-tiny little bottles of nail polish for a dollar. You can have polish on hand for when you want fancy nails, but you’re not wasting $$$ on bottles that will go bad before you use them up. Also, if you have girly-girls, like I do, they get to pick out fun colors like acid green or bright blue.

Congratulations on your cleaning progress! I am such a pack rat, it is litterally PAINFUL to throw things out. So, I just buy a ton of cute baskets/containers/etc. and store everything as neatly as possible.

I really need to do that with my bathroom cabinets. The amount of lotions and shampoos and conditioners I have that I will never use again because I didn’t like them… well, I could start my own store.

What a great idea – I did the same thing! I never paint my fingernails any more since I can’t stand them to be long, but I do paint toenails, so I kept the toenail colors and out went the fingernail colors. Remember when that light blue-silver color was in? I had 3 bottles of that! Why?!

WOW. That’s awesome. What will you do with all that newly won space?!

I will now tell you that today, almost 6 months after your niece was born, I finally threw out three packets of the net underwear they give you at the hospital after giving birth. And I even had a moment of, “But they’re still in plastic wrap! Not even used!” as if I will have a need for GIANT DISPOSABLE NET UNDERWEAR anytime soon.

Way to go, Swistle! I was going to say keep one color that pretty much works for you, but I love the idea about just getting a manicure sometime and still coming out ahead.

I purged my daughter’s dresser this week. Her bookshelf and toy crates are up next, but I’m still struggling with the cold from hell and this much felt like a Himalayan trek.

You’ve been inspiring me all week.

Last night I cleaned out the junk drawer and threw away all the pens with dried up ink. I nearly filled a whole trash can! It is a wonder of physics how all that crap fit into one little drawer. lol.

Yeah. I’ve done this before and it’s downright liberating. I finally admitted that I never wear nail polish. I do put some on my toes occasionally, but I get sick of any color but red after one day. So now I own exactly one bottle of red nail polish.

    Very freeing.

I have a ton of unused polish too and should get rid of it. Except for that chrome finish stuff (that I see in your trash) because I love it on my toes and it’s hard to find now.

ha ha ha!!!! I remember trading tons of emails with you about nail polish colors!!! And now you’ve thrown all yours out, and Josie is using all of mine!

Before I clicked over to see the photo, I thought the photo was going to be of your nails clean, and then dirty, and I was going to say that mine are perpetually dirty. I try to keep them clean, but between the yard and everything else, every time I look down, they’re dirty! Maybe I should go back to wearing polish as a concealer?
