One Last Giveaway

As promised yesterday, we’re having one more giveaway even though the CPSIA scare has been postponed. I was really glad that the donor was willing to still give this prize, because it’s such a fun one: the artist Rachael Rossman has offered one of her Name Paintings! If you read Dooce, you’ve seen Rachael’s work there.

I think this is a PRETTY SQUEEISH prize, and I don’t know WHY I even DO these giveaways when all they do is make me ENVIOUS of the winners. But your happiness is my happiness, etc., etc., so let’s do this thing!

The prize is one Name Painting, with, obv, your choice of name. (Tease: the real name of one of my kids is one of the samples.) She’ll paint it to match room decor and interests, too, so, like, you can do a kid’s name in pinks and princesses or in greens and sports or in pinks and sports, or whatever. You could also do it with a surname—it seems like that would make a good gift for parents or grandparents who are hard to buy for. Maybe not in the princess theme, then.

To enter, leave a comment on this post before Sunday, February 8th, at 4:00 p.m. U.S. Pacific time. (Need something to say? You could guess which name is the one that’s the name of one of my kids, but I’m not saying if you’re right or not so that’s kind of an over-tease and maybe you just want to say your favorite color instead.) I’ll choose one random winner to envy.

Wait, those aren’t your kids name, posted on the side of the page? I can understand that I guess, you never know who is on here.

I would love one of these for my little G!

These are awesome! I am re-doing both of my girls rooms and one of these would be perfect! But then I would have to buy a second one! BTW, my guess would be Sam or Owen!

I’m due with our second child TODAY, oh wouldn’t this make a nice little welcome home gift for him? I THINK SO. ;) Then I guess I’d need to buy one for our other son…

It drives me nuts when I get used to a blogger’s kids’ names and then I find out they are aliases. IT’S TOO CONFUSING. So I refuse to believe that your children are named anything other than the names you use here.

I guess Ella because it’s similar to Elizabeth. When I use psuedonyms in my blog (which I do for some people and not others) I usually try to pick a name that feels the same to me.

p.s. If your kids’ names are similar to the ones you use in the blog, I like your taste in names.

Alright, I’m gonna guess the names.

I think if one of your boys’ names is up there I’m thinking Owen or Evan.

I think William might be Owen.
I think Robert might be Evan.

Or a guess for your girl…For Elizabeth, I’m going to guess either Ella or Reagan. I have a Reagan Elizabeth, so of course I’m led that way.

That would be really cool if I guessed right…of course, making 4 guesses helps.

These are awesome – they would also make a great “welcome baby” gift for a friend or relative, don’t you think?
My daughter Sophie would love one. Like any typical 4-year old girl, she is into princesses and sometimes fairies too. But also wild animals (esp. lions and wolves). Her room is decorated in a “Little Mermaid” theme.

I would lurve one of these! And even though you won’t reveal the names, I hope it’s Bryce. I love that name and I could totally see you naming your kid that.

I would guess that elizabeth’s name is ella or lilly…but maybe that just because those were both on my girl lists.

One of my kid’s names is there too..!

Okay! Here’s my entry and my favorite color is teal — not the Tiffany color, but deeper and more to the blue side than that.

OMGZ. I was SO excited to go read all the samples for a HINT of what one of your children’s first names are (since your the queen of names, I’m just soooo curious!).

But then there were like, A THOUSAND SAMPLES. LOL.

I will still take my guesses:

Ella Elizabeth stuck out to me for some reason.

    And for boys names…
    Jack
    or
    Evan

    But I’m probably wrong! lol.

I think my last post didn’t . . . post. Anyway, what I said was: maybe she’d be willing to wait until some of us have chosen names?
And then what I said was: the name paintings ARE pretty rad.

Well, I think it could be Avery. Just a hunch, a wild hunch! And I would be so happy to have a name painting for my Thomas…right now his room is pitifully under decorated!

Oh, how I would have loved this as a kid. Never never had anything with my name on it (I can hear you crying for me…) My childhood disappointment was one of the main reasons I named my kids “boring” names.

Anyway, cool fun product. I hope that someone with strange kid names wins…

These name paintings are adorable. My fingers are totally crossed for this one!! And I’m going out on a limb and guessing that Elizabeth’s name is Lillie

So cute. But if I win one, I like a couple of other people will have to buy another so that both kids have one. My life just isn’t worth it otherwise.

My bestest friend just had her first baby – his name is on there! Chase! – and I would love to get this for him. He’s the closest thing I’ll have to my own baby for a couple years, until my husband and I decide we’re ready for our own. :)

Ohhh, these are so cute – they make my heart all warm and fuzzy. I’d love one for myself, but I think it’d be a great gift for my God-daughter!

I’m going to guess Ella for your daughter’s name. I love that name, that’s why I picked it! :)

Our son already has one in his room done by an artist from Key West– but our second-born is not so lucky! This would be a perfect prize that would end sibling rivalry forever! (OK,maybe not but mom likes it!)

Hmm…I think the one that is one of your kid’s names is Owen.

Also, my favorite color is pink.

Also, this would be perfect for Colin, please pick me!
