CPSIA Giveaway #3

This morning I performed my Wifely Duty, and you can just stop that snickering right now because what you are thinking of is not even in the marriage vows, or at least not the ones I vowed. What I vowed is to continue to be Paul’s wife in sickness as well as in health, so when he woke up making babyish groany “I have a perfectly ordinary headcold but I’m acting more like it’s the end stages of terminal cancer” sounds, I brought him Dayquil and water in bed instead of buying him a one-way ticket for Bucking Fabyville. I rewarded my devotion with a slice of cake in a size known as “Have a little CAKE, why don’t you.”

Today is our third CPSIA giveaway. (Here’s the first and the second.) Charming Maeve is going to give away THREE prizes, one baby shirt of the winner’s choice (I THINK my favorite is “One state, two state, red state, blue state,” but it’s a tough call) to each of THREE (U.S.) winners, so that TRIPLES your chance of winning. To enter, leave a comment on this post by Monday, February 2, 2009, 4:00 p.m. U.S. Pacific time, and I’ll choose (THREE) random winners.

For all of us who DON’T win, Charming Maeve is offering free U.S. shipping on all tees, including women’s tees (also available in my favorite one state two state version). She warns that she has to manually update inventory, and she’ll try to keep up but it’s possible there will be Disappointments if the orders come in quickly. And once CPSIA takes affect on February 10th, she won’t be able to sell the baby shirts anymore, so move fast.

*********
There is still room in the schedule for a few more giveways, so if you’re an artist/crafter affected by CPSIA or wanting to show support for those affected by CPSIA, email me at swistle at gmail dot com and let me know what you’d like to give away. Don’t be intimidated by the awesomeness of the prizes so far. The prize can be tiny. I’ll handle the giveaway here, and then let you know who to mail the cool swag to.

OH I hear you with the “I have a perfectly ordinary headcold but I’m acting more like it’s the end stages of terminal cancer”. I was rolling my eyes so far back in my head last week I thought I’d lose them. Now I’m feeling terrible because Mr. “Never Gets Sick” has pneumonia. Well I don’t feel THAT terrible as I’ve had pneumonia before and still did all those Mommy things that we do.

    ANYWAY, here’s my comment.

Also, lots of shops on Etsy are having sales due to this CPSIA bullshit so I’m trying to support them and buy up the goods!

I have an 8 month old who could certainly use the Live Entertainment Nightly on those nights she decides that 3:30 am – 6:30 am are prime hours to have some fun! What cute tees!

Your blog is like playing the Lotto. Every day the ante gets bigger and better so I keep playing. Someone has to win- so why not throw my hat into the ring?

    Thanks Swistle!

Yay! One more cool thing to enter to win but if I don’t win I will probably buy. :) Oh, wait, will I have enough time to buy by the end of the contest? When does the law go into effect?

Ha, ha, ha- wifely duties. All I can say is it’s a good think _I_ am the one to carry our babies and have csections, or the WORLD might stop SPINNING if David had to have a incision, or even a hangnail, for that matter. =)

How would a person EVER decide on all the cute t’s??????

My husband refuses to ever admit he’s sick, which you would THINK would make my wifely duties easier, but it leaves me unable to render care in any way that suggests he needs it. So if he’s home from work and just HAPPENS to be spending the day in bed or sleeping on the couch, I can randomly leave cups of tea near him, but GOD FORBID I ask if he WANTS a cup of tea. What is he, a GIRL?
    Men are funny.

What is it with husbands and being sissies when they’re sick? I’m a nurse and have ZERO sympathy unless you are really DYING. And YES, I can tell when you are.

The tees are all soo cute!

Is it weird I feel weird entering festive contests when this is just such a sad thing?

Not that I am turning down any prizes…

I just feel bad. I wrote a letter, but I am not sure what good it will do. (Politicians never listen to my letters.)

I’ve been holding off entering because I’m not pregnant (yet), but I can’t do it. This stuff is too cute! And with any luck we’ll be needing it before too long. And if not, we certainly know people who could use cute baby clothes.

Oh, um, also it is less frightening for me to tell the random internets that we are hoping to get pregnant soon than it is to tell our families. Most of them still don’t know, and I don’t intend to tell them until we actually ARE.

I have a 2 y/o & a 4 month old — it’s Live Entertainment Nightly every 2 hours, all night long at our house! Would love shirts to commemorate the fun!

So proud of Mary (Charming Maeve)I wish we all had the courage to start our own businesses (and make it all the way to Target.com!) I really hope you all aren’t affected by all of this! Good luck, Kelly (Western Printing)

My significant other just returned from Bucking Fabyville due to what he was convinced was The Cold To End All Colds In The History Of Ever, but which was really more a case of the sniffles. Gah! In other news, I love the one state, two state shirt!

My husband seems to have set up permanent residence in Bucking Fabyville lately. He had a cough/sinus infection for a couple of months…you would have thought he was dying of Tuberculosis, and just this week he had stomach flu, which he seems to have mistaken for Cholera or something of that nature. I need to win! :)
