I really like ours. I love mario galaxy. My kids like the sports game that comes with it. We bought the Wii Play for $50.00 It comes with a game and an extra remote. (The extra remote by itself is $40.00 so you are getting a game for $10.00) The kids like the games on it too.
Wii Music! We rented it last weekend and my 5 year old loved it. Definitely rent the games before you buy them, though, because some of them are stinkers and/or way too difficult for those of us with hand-eye coordination issues.
OMG!!! You have to let us know what you think. I am totally conflicted about video games and having them in the house with small children. Which is odd, because I’m not very hyper about how much TV the kids watch.
Matt is dying to get one, even though I’m not sure it is in the budget right now. I’m pretty sure he’d go out and buy one tonight if I told him to go for it.
I will be dying to hear about your experience!!! Is it a Christmas thing or will you dig into it as soon as it arrives?
Kelsey- It’s going to be a whole-family Christmas gift. I’m nervous we’re going to find out that the Wii is cheap compared to all the accessories and games we’ll need to buy now!
Hey, we did the whole this is a whole family present too! ROCK BAND. It’s so fun and everyone can play. Also, I second renting the games first. That way you can see if you like them before you buy them.
Love Wii Sports–nothing like the shooting game to get out frustrations. And, of course, Wii Fit–rhythm boxing is fun and HARD. And husband and I spent an OBSCENE amount of time playing Legend of Zelda. Oooh. I love it all, really. g~
My hubs and I love the Wii! It’s so fun! We love to buy used games and then sell them back when we’re done with them. With the kiddos involved, I’m sure you could rent some every now and then instead of forking out the cash for permanent ones!
Boomblox is a great game! Also I really lucked out after Christmas last year and found some controllers at Wal-Mart that had been a part of a gift set (they came with a holder for the games) on clearance for half price.
I didn’t read the comments, so I’m sure it’s all been said but…
Make up your Mii and play Wii Bowling on Wii Sports! Play the bowling game in the training where you have to knock down the increasing number of pins. It’s ADDICTIVE!!!!
I’ll add Elebits to the list of games you’ve got to try. So fun!
I also like to download the old school Nintendo games from previous systems. We have quite a few Wii games, but my friend just wants to come over to play Dr. Mario.
I will second or third or fourth the recommendation for Mario Kart. For the record, the little steering wheel thing is kind of useless – at least I personally kick way more butt with the controller + nunchuck combo.
Wii Fit!
Now, you become addicted. My hubby and I are still addicted to the free games that came with our Wii (golf, tennis, bowling).
I second Melinda. ;)
Now you post your Mii!

Mario Kart! SO fun! The boys would love racing against each other!
Also, Jillian Michaels has a new game for the Wii, which I’ve yet to try but got for my birthday. It looks brutal, yet fun!
Swistle, if you want Wii Fit, I would gladly sell you mine for less than retail. I used it twice.
I second Mario Kart and Super Mario Galaxy! Also, Super Paper Mario. Can you tell I like Mario?
Wii Music! We rented it last weekend and my 5 year old loved it. Definitely rent the games before you buy them, though, because some of them are stinkers and/or way too difficult for those of us with hand-eye coordination issues.
Congrats – you’re going to love it!
Ohhh, have fun!!
Now, I’m jealous.
GUITAR HERO!!!!!!!!! I know, I know. I’m so not the demographic for Guitar Hero, but I. LOVE. IT. Think “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”…
Now you and your kids become addicted. We recommend:
Wii Fit
Guitar Hero
Any and All Mario games
Now you bring yourself, the Wii, and some brownies over to my house! ;)
I am totally coming over and we are playing Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Wii Boxing.
Bowling will be such fun for everyone (and comes included!!!). I also second MarioKart.
Wantwantwantwantwantwant!!!!!!
SO jealous.
yay! I have one too, I want the Wii Fit for christmas, I need to get my behind in shape… :)

g~
We just got ours this week and I am already a Wii widow. It was all I could do to wrest control of the TV last night so I could watch Top Chef.
But we all love it, including me.
My hubs and I love the Wii! It’s so fun! We love to buy used games and then sell them back when we’re done with them. With the kiddos involved, I’m sure you could rent some every now and then instead of forking out the cash for permanent ones!
Having the crap beaten out of you at Wii tennis by your kids, sadly.
I hope you keep blogging. I’m not sure if I would if I got a Wii.
Get playing!
:)
You could buy me one! That is the only logical next move. :o)
Boomblox is a great game! Also I really lucked out after Christmas last year and found some controllers at Wal-Mart that had been a part of a gift set (they came with a holder for the games) on clearance for half price.
Oh! and also you can buy used games for a discount and Game Stop.
Check your local library to rent wii games before purchasing them. Our library rents them for $1/week!
I didn’t read the comments, so I’m sure it’s all been said but…

Enjoy!
Now you receive my envious looks. *squinty eyes*
Play Lego Indiana Jones and/or Batman in co-op mode. Duh.
Congrats on the new addition to your family! I bet you will have so much fun with Rob & William playing on it.
Now you need a Fit and MarioKart. The spending never stops! =)
first you get a wii fit, and then you pack it all in a box and send it to MEEEEEEE! (or is that mii?)
HA HA HA!!
Make your little Mii. I wish you could send your Mii to bowl with my Mii.
Yay! Let the fun begin!!!
Wii Fit, and Mario Kart.
Now you party like it’s 1999! :)
Dance revolution!
I’ll add Elebits to the list of games you’ve got to try. So fun!
I also like to download the old school Nintendo games from previous systems. We have quite a few Wii games, but my friend just wants to come over to play Dr. Mario.
ROCK BAND! It’s a MUST HAVE! (But you do have to buy an extra guitar.)
Wii Fit! I want (need) one so bad!
Add me as a Wii friend! My Wii number is 7727 9780 5511 4317. If you send me yours too, then we can send Mii’s to each other.
I will second or third or fourth the recommendation for Mario Kart. For the record, the little steering wheel thing is kind of useless – at least I personally kick way more butt with the controller + nunchuck combo.
