MASSIVE FAIL

So all of a sudden I was like, “Huh. I don’t think I’ve seen any new posts by Tessie recently.” So I went directly to the blog (usually I wait for something to appear in my RSS reader), and I found I’d missed A WEEK AND A HALF of posts. Well, WHAT THE HECK?

So then I got nervous, and started going through my reader. Erica is near the top, and I thought, “Well, I haven’t read anything by her in awhile, but she’s on a blogging hiatus so that’s probably not a problem with the RSS reader.” But then I thought, “Well, why not check?” So I checked. OH HAI: I’ve missed a week and a half of posts. What! the! HECK???

Also near the top of the reader is Kara, and I thought, “Hey. I don’t remember seeing Friday Questions.” So I went directly to the blog, and what did I find? I found AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!, that’s what I found, because there were more missed posts!

What the heck, Bloglines? Now I have to go look through every single blog in my RSS reader MANUALLY, like it’s 2001 or something. Why do I even HAVE a reader, if there is going to be a MASSIVE FAIL like this? Why not WRITE LETTERS BY CANDLELIGHT??

UGH. That SUCKS. Maybe switch to Google Reader? For awhile I was actually using both because some posts showed up first in GR and others in Bloglines. But now I just use GR. It’s easier and seems to work a bit better. Although sometimes it’s slow, everything seems to show up eventually. I read all of the blogs you mentioned, for example, and I haven’t missed any of the posts that you missed.

EXACT same problem, and I, too, started with Tessie only to find that many of my updates weren’t happening. Not cool. Not cool at all.

I’m with Jess. I like Google Reader much better. Occasionally, it has a mini-stroke and doesn’t post things for half a day or so, but never a week!

And in case mine didn’t update, I’m still fricken pregnant. GAH!

I use Google reader too. But it sometimes fails for a few days, then pops up with THREE new posts from someone’s blog all at once. Don’t they computers know that they are our SLAVES and they are not permitted to act out in this way?

What are these letters you speak of? :-)

I had one day when I couldn’t pull up Google Reader on my computer and I totally freaked out. I hope that this is a very temporary problem.

Too funny… sadly, I’m still stuck in 2001 though because I can’t figure out how to make a reader work :) Every day, I loyally check them. Pathetic, yes. My fault, yes. At least I admit it!

Bloglines is really making me mad too. I found a bunch of people whose feeds never updated for me (like Tessie!!) — but then I have other feeds that keep showing the same 20 posts as “new” no matter how many times I go and “read” them.

Methinks I need to check out Google Reader too.

This is so funny. I’d have to say that if you were to miss a week’s worth of posts, this might be the week I would pick.

I commend your stick-to-it-iveness (hardest word to type EVER) though. I think I would have to just skim for Major Happenings and move on.

You know, I thought maybe at least half the people who read my blog were on summer vacation or something. But I guess they just all have Bloglines. I hope, anyway. Otherwise I guess they just don’t like me anymore.

I’ve been having similar issues with my iGoogle home page, which is what I depend on for updates. Don’t understand what the problem is but it is very frustrating.
