Life With Paul

We’re watching a TV commercial in which people are eating fast food in the car, and the TV asks us: “When did THIS become a sit-down dinner?” Paul answers the TV: “The assumption in your question is unwarranted. UNWARRANTED!”

Paul is teaching the kids The Binary ABCs: “Zero, one. Now I know my zero ones! Next time won’t you sing with me?”

Paul puts Elizabeth into her pajamas, then says to me, “Exoskeleton installation complete.”

He’s teaching the children to “robot dance”: “Shake what your manufacturer specified!” “Shake it until you require service!”

That is awesome! I love teaching my son odd things because they are unique and make them think outside of the box!

OR one day they will red cheeked with embarrassment over their dorky parents. Which ever… they both work for me!

That’s funny! It’s ok, my hubby is a huge dork too :) His mom sent us a package the other day, and he opened and said, “hey, look at this shirt mom got me.” I stand there, staring at it, confused and he says, “It says ‘DAD’ in binary code!”

Ohmigod. I am totally dying at the “Exoskeleton installation complete” line.

And JMC’s right, he is JUST like those guys on “Big Bang Theory.” Awesome.

You know, Paul just won major points. “Shake it until you require service”!!!

You would think that Jeff would also be a geek but besides being a computer programmer/web developer, he is a normal dude. He likes cars, he likes boats. It is like he should have majored in business or something ;).

Ah, the goodness of geekiness. I’m afraid that I’m the geek in our household. My husband takes care of the sports-commentary

Ha! Sounds like a regular riot. I myself love it when my boyfriend points out the logical fallacies (philosophy major) in commercials. Or when he refers to our son’s swing as the shuttle or the viper or the raptor and lapses into shouting out Lift-off and/or BSG phrases while my son swings in the front yard. Fun stuff.

I don’t know which is worse, that or listening to EX and the Things singing God Bless My Underwear to the tune of God Bless America. And yes, there are several verses.

Yes, I must concur with the others on The Big Bang Theory.

You guys must watch it when it comes out on DVD. I think you would both like it.

OMG– I think that is hysterical.

Hub teaches the kids other things like to say “I growed a tail!!” after pooping. OY.

Or to dance like Jay and Silent Bob did in Clerks. Double OY.

I laughed out loud, especially the “exoskeleton installation.” I’m still laughing out loud, because I just remembered the Binary ABCs.

My husband is also an engineer. He goes gaga for the engineering shows on Discovery or National Geographic. Sometimes the geekdom is frightening!

So funny!! The counting in binary… too great. My hubs is a geek, too, and I love it. The other day while driving home, we actually had a conversation about calculus and physics. Yawn.

Oh my goodness, I laughed out loud. A lot! I think I may be in love with your husband now. I’ve always had a thing for the geeky boys!

My favorite was the day my husband got our then 2 year old to say perspicacity. Then she would say it to EVERYONE and they would just look at her quizzically. Then I would have to apologize that her dad taught her that big word.

I’m jealous. I would love to have a Sheldon at our place! Instead I have Will Ferrell. We’re terribly low brow at our house what with Walrus’ love of fart humor and ball scratching. Sigh.

Ah yes. Those are the comments that make you go, “Oh! THAT’S why I married you!”

*sigh* They need to do that more often. ‘Cause the lackluster personality I’VE been seeing lately has me perusing our insurance policy and the cast iron skillet aisles at the store.

I too am familiar with living with that guy. But it is totally one of the reasons I loooooove him!

And I agree with “The Big Bang Theory” assessment – when we watch that, he most always gets every Star Trek or sci-fi reference they make.

Ohhh, those are funny enough to almost forget about the reading in the shower! =)

Also, caquincys comment was pretty damn funny!

Is not installation of an exoskeleton inherently contradictory? YES IT IS!

This last provided by my nerdy husband. Your nerdy husband’s twin.

I will however be teaching Harrison to sing the binary alphabet tomorrow.
