Smoky

I have a bottle of expensive French perfume. You know how pipe tobacco can smell delicious? That is the basic idea of this perfume.

Swistle: Want to smell my new expensive French perfume? *offers neck*

Paul: *takes deep whiff of neck* Mmmm, nice. Flowery.

Swistle: It’s SMOKY.

Paul: …

Swistle: Want to try again? *re-offers neck*

Paul: *takes deep whiff of neck* Mmmm! SMOKE!

Swistle: …

Paul: Have you been…*waggles eyebrows suggestively*…BARBECUING?

I love you guys. This type of exchange is my favorite because it’s so real. The re-offering of the neck and the suggestive barbecue! Priceless!

    I love BBQ.

So, what type of perfume is it? I feel like I want to start smelling pretty. I’d like a “signature scent”…something that I could still be wearing in 50 years.

Mmmm … Tea for Two is my favorite L’Artisan, as I think I’ve told you — it’s followed by a close second in La Chasse Aux Papillons.

Tea for Two smells like a chai latte with honey on me. Smoky? BARBECUING? How dare he! I think it has some lapsang souchong tea in it, which is very smoky, and on some people, it smells like burning tires (Have you ever smelled Bulgari Black? Its primary note is lapsang souchong, and on me, it smells PRECISELY like burnt rubber. It’s disgusting. But it has the coolest bottle ever). Thankfully, Tea for Two’s lapsang souchang is much more gentle and honeyed on me.

    I have problems.

You guys are so cute. I am so so picky about scents and perfumes. I feel kind of cheesy about it, but I guess my “signature scent” is Vanilla Sugar from B&B Works…since I have been wearing it for oh…a decade or so.

Man. That makes me feel juvenile.
