I love peanut butter and honey sammiches and adorable widdle widdle boys who can’t talk *too* much yet. Or when they do, it’s cute at least. Can i move in? Especially this week? Pretty please. (You can test out your new dishes! Heh, heh.)
A fine idea! My dad once purged all his socks, bought 14 pairs of the same color/style and made a big announcement to my mom that she is never to buy him socks again!
Oh, why can’t they just stay small forever?? Really – it would definitely solve the over population explosion that is soon to hit our house. That last picture is adorable. I love it.
Oh, I can’t wait till Eli’s big enough to give me smiles like the one Henry is sporting there! It will make all this middle-of-the-night crap worthwhile. And if an adorable hat magically appeared on his head that would be even better.
Tell Henry he’s got to stop making me crave having another baby by being so unbelievably adorable! When your MIL comes, just put that hat on H and she’ll be too distracted to notice anything about the state of tidiness of the house…
This weekend at my place, it’s clean-clean-clean like an insane person. Today I’m scrubbing the blackened burnt-on gunk off the stove top.
Henry’s smile is delicious. I love when you post those closeups. My least favorite thing to do is purchase, wash and/or fold socks. I hate them. My dad and I were just discussing this yesterday…trying to figure out how much time folding socks takes out of the average person’s lifetime.
Katie- But LESS counter-wiping! And, I’m tidy and can usually shake off the crumbs and hang the towel on the oven handle.
MrsGrumpy- I can tell you the answer: TOO MUCH TIME. I only pair socks now when they’re different from the others; that is, all my many pairs of white socks get tossed into the drawer in a jumble, but I pair and fold my two pairs of pink, three pairs of navy, etc. This is why I don’t understand why I would have purchased William the mixed socks he wanted (a package containing one pair of red stripe, one pair of blue stripe, etc.). Did I LOSE MY MIND or something?
Marie Green- Don’t tell E & E, but all they REALLY did was play with some plastic dishes in the sink. And then they went off and played and I washed the dishes for real. I can’t ever let the kids truly help, either. For one thing, they do crappy work.
Erin- Rob eats 2, William eats 1.5, twins eat .5 each, I ate 1, and 2 went in the freezer for school lunches. …Gosh, that was a REALLY BORING ANSWER.
Love your day. That hat (and the smile in it) made me smile.
Re: Your previous post. I do the same thing when pressed to act. I sit and stew. And do something like clean the craft cupboard. I know of which you speak.
Hmmm…I never considered the towel/crumb trick. I love blogs. I learn so many new tactics.
I also agree with Marie Green. I don’t like “help” from the toddler in the kitchen. However, sometimes when she is grabbing my legs and crying and trying to get in between me and the hot sizzling stove, I let her play in the sink. Ugh.
It looks like you’re feeling more accompished than the post before. I see progress. Love seeing the twins doing dishes! And Henry, oh baby Henry, he’s a little heart-breaker. That hat just makes it worse. :D ADORABLE!
Ohmigosh! Are those peanut butter and honey sandwiches?!?! Those were my favorite! I used to put raisins on them though too.
Our kitchens look very similar setup-wise.
And seriously, the hat just killed me. I am now dead from cute.
AndreAnna- Oh, yeahhh, PB&H. But…raisins? Re hat: you see, perhaps, how they rung FULL RETAIL out of me. It was like lightning hit me.
My kids go for PB&H on cinnamon raisin bread…
That last picture was so cute it would make even captive pandas want to breed.
Not a bad day! Henry’s smile and that hat made me melt…
I love the last picture!!! Adorable!
But then so are your other ‘big’ boys! ;)
Wow—you should submit that last picture of Henry to a baby modeling contest–he is GORGEOUS!!!
Ha! The hat is awesome. I think we have the same stove.
awwww, that’s so cute! Love all the pics. d has a little hat with flaps like that, you don’t even want to know how much I paid for it. oops.
Ahhh… the parade of mismatched socks. All mine go in a basket and the kids match them up while watching a movie.
LOVE the hat. I would have paid full price too.
Peanut butter and honey sandwiches were my favorite growing up!
You definitely got your money’s worth with that hat (of course you could make a hat out of newspaper and he’d still look cute!).
LoriD- And the pictured socks belong to only THREE of the five children! I’m thinking of switching to a system where each child wears all one color.
Henry in that hat makes me want to have more babies RIGHT THIS MINUTE.

Thank goodness for the adorable baby in the darling hat… and the dish-washing helpers are pretty cute too. Fun day! =)
Your little kitchen helpers are adorable?
& who is that baby in the last picture? I know it cannot be Henry because Henry is a baby and the person in that picture looks like such a big boy!
Ahh! Peanut butter & honey sandwiches rule!
And your kids are so cute it hurts. For real!
Wait. You make sandwiches on a towel? But, Swistle! That just means more LAUNDRY!!!!!!
The pictures are absolutely PRECIOUS! The hat is perfect.

Hahahahaha. It looks remarkably like my day, except we had turkey and cheese sandwiches today to mix it up a little.
And I agree–the hat (and the baby in it)=ADORABLE!
I love, love, love your dish washing helpers!

Love that none of the socks match. So true…
And the toddlers helping with dishes= my worse nightmare. This is why I am not a good mother. I DON’T LIKE “help” from the children.
The hat, oh, the hat. I was WORTH full retail. (The boy wearing the hat is pretty smashing too.)
mismatches socks @#$%$ man that makes me insane. Ohhhh how I miss peanut butter my poor guy is allergic. Ugggg
I love how none of the socks match!
And that hat. SO CUTE.
I count 7 sandwiches. And Henry doens’t eat one. So who gets two sandwiches?
I LOVE the hat! And that smiley boy in the hat… TOO MUCH.

i love the hat! so many adorable children! so many exclamation points!
that hat definitely DELIVERED. Mountains of cute!!
I’m thinking the hat was the highlight. Unless there is a winning lottery ticket not pictured.
Actually, still the hat.
aw man! my mom never made us peanut butter and honey sandwiches! your kids = way lucky. also am desperately in need of nibbling on henry’s cheeks.
That is the cutest little boy, ever! And, the twins look adorable doing the dishes. What happy happy kidlets.
This post would make a brilliant children’s book. Also, the first two photos sort of match each other in a funky, satisfying way.
It looks like you’re feeling more accompished than the post before. I see progress. Love seeing the twins doing dishes! And Henry, oh baby Henry, he’s a little heart-breaker. That hat just makes it worse. :D ADORABLE!
OMG….how did Henry get to be so cute? E& E too. The laundry is worth it for kids that cute. :)
That hat is awesome. But I think an even MORE awesome hat is the dishtowel on the head. I love the one eye peering out.
Yay, photos!
That’s it! If other toddlers can do the dishes so can Princess. I knew it was time for her to start pitching in around the house.
Or should I continue to do the dishes myself because I’ll actually end up spending more time cleaning the water off the floor and counters?
T with Honey- Number of bath towels needed to clean up water: 2. Number of dishes that didn’t need to be rewashed by someone competent: 0.
Oh Henry is way too cute! That hat is precious.
That is just the best post. I LOVE it! (and yes, I’m waaaay behind on my blogging.)
