Let’s All Go Shopping at The Children’s Place!

I just posted a little while ago, so don’t miss the cookie post below if you haven’t seen it yet. But pretty, pretty Mir alerted me to a good deal over at The Children’s Place, and we all like our kids to dress the same, right? …Right? Anyway, there’s a clearance sale AND a $10-off-$30 coupon AND a free shipping deal, so I got some stuff for Elizabeth for next summer. I tried to link to each thing I bought, but it didn’t work–but just go to the “outlet” section, and all the stuff I got was under “baby girls.”

I bought the cute false-advertising “Never Crabby” shirt that Shelly’s Peanut modeled the other day, and in fact I bought it in two sizes so Elizabeth can tell lies this summer and next summer. I bought the yoga skort in the same blue color (called “oxygen”), and then bought the white t-shirt with the blue “CUTIE” on it, and a dolphin shirt I think will go with the skort too, and the blue socks, and the blue patterned maryjane sneakers. Plus of course the hoodie in both colors it comes in, because I love both, and because I love the hoodies I got for Elizabeth in the spring clearance, and because Shannon’s Darsie has it (top photo) and I am so influenced by what other people’s kids look cute in.

Why did I buy nothing at all for the four boys? Er. I have no good explanation, other than that it is fun to buy girl clothes.

If you follow Mir’s link for free shipping, allow a little time for the coupon to arrive: I think mine came about an hour later. Do the dumb little game first (it wants personal information like your name and address, but you have to give them that anyway when you place an order), then shop, then see if the coupon came yet. And, as Mir says, you can use that shipping coupon along with the $10-off-$30 coupon, so as long as you order $30 worth of stuff, you get it for $20 and you get it shipped free. Awesome.

If you buy anything, tell me what you bought! I might have to place another order.

woohoo I got the crab shirt that I’ve been wanting for the past 3 sales, however that was the ONLY thing I wanted (the only thing they had in her size till today) and wasn’t going to pay shipping on it. I also got 2 pairs of jeans for next year and hope that she can figure out how to open and close jeans by the time it gets cold.

No newborn stuff struck my fancy and all the boy’s clothes from this year are so huge they’ll probably still fit next year.

    You know I went because I’m a spender : )

    I got:
the crabby t-shirt in oxygen because how could I not?
the huggable octopus t-shirt in white and pansy.
the pansy and green raglan t-shirt with the butterfly on it.
the tropical plaid dress in neptune
    the matchables shorts in iris
    yoga pants in oxcide (green)
    printed knit shorts in pansy.
All in 18 months for next summer.

The best part? Almost everything is mix and match. 7 outfits for $32 and change with both coupons. I love a deal!

    Ok…

I also bought the crabby shirt in oxygen with a matching oxygen skort. Then the multicolored striped skort with the “Be anything I wanna be” tee. A cute bathing suit for Cait and 3 muscle shirts for Eddie. All for an AMAZING $21.43. Oooooh yeah.

I love retail therapy, but my husband will say you’re a bad influence ;)

We should all post pics of our girls in the crabby shirts, no?

Am I the only one who bought boy stuff? Girl shopping is fun, but, alas – I have no girl. hehe

Anyway, I bought eleven (YES 11!) shirts and got the free shipping and used the coupon and it ended up being $50. Not bad for 11 shirts. I had to get them some little coordinating polos and hawaiin shirts, plus a rugby shirt with D’s number for both of them. Also a couple of other random cute t-shirts.

Dude! I read the first part about the deal and the coupon code and booked it over to TCP and placed my order. Then I came back here and finished reading you and HA! We bought the same things for our girls! How funny! I LOVED the blue mary jane sneakers for 4 freaking dollars! FOUR DOLLARS! Thanks for the heads up! I ended up with 3 shirts, 2 skirts, pair of shoes for my girl and 4 shirts for my boy for only 35 dollars!

    I bought:

    The crabby shirt…of course

Hoodie and matching shorts in “bubble”

    Yoga pants in “multi”

    Butterfly applique tank in “solar”

    Knickers(HA!)in oxide

    Total $24.72

I too liked that everything seems pretty mix and match. The bubble and multi patterns have pretty much every summer color under the sun so even I can scrape together a matching onesie/tank somewhere.

Erica: I had the raglan butterfly shirt IN MY CART and took it out at the last minute, and now I’m SORRY! Ooo, and I missed that tropical plaid dress, which I see is a perfect match for the little maryjane sneakers I bought! And I am DYING about the octopus shirt, which I totally missed! That is SO CUTE!

Sara: I agree, we all have to post crabby tee pics!

Devan: YOU NEED A GIRL. But I admit, there is some satisfaction in buying boy things, too. I didn’t buy any boy stuff this time, but my spring clearance TCP order included some really cute shirts for Edward.

Karly: I WISH WISH WISH the shoes had still been available in pink, too! I had two pairs of each (two sizes of each color) in my cart, and the pink ones sold out while I was dithering over other items. And did you get the crab shirt? Because I think we’re ALL buying the crab shirt.

Tessie: I’m glad you got the hoodie! I thought EVERYONE would buy the hoodie! I have two in spring patterns for Elizabeth, and they are the BEST hoodies.

I ended up with 6 shirts + 2 pairs of pants for $20. I believe I am high on the joy of it all right now.

I got the crabby shirt in a larger size, too, because I don’t see myself getting sick of it. Even if it isn’t exactly true. I’ve seen other crab shirts that read “Crabby but Cute” which might be a little more accurate.

To the roster, I add my purchase of:

    5 Hats
    5 brightly colored rompers
1 pair of sandals for sweet baby toes!

All for less than $25.00. You can’t beat that. Do I get to say I officially started Christmas shopping in June? Go me. Thanks for the head’s up!

I actually didn’t end up buying anything because Darsie’s grandma bought her a lot of stuff from Children’s Place already that was on sale. DARN IT!!!!!

I think everyone with girls should buy the knickers. Darsie has them in pink (bubble?) and they are sooooo comfy. They are like sweat pant bermuda shorts with the sweetest roll down waist.

Thanks Shannon, I was having a bit of buyers remorse about the knickers (too Oliver Twist?), but now I think I will go back and get the bubble ones to match her other stuff.

Ok, FINE, I’ll go shopping too. Twist my arm!

I haven’t finalized my order yet, because I’m still waiting until I get my emailed coupon, but I have tons of stuff for all 3 girls. Flip flops, crinkled summer skorts, and tanks for my big girls, a beach hoodie, the Crabby T, the bubble romper and matching hat, and some stretch mermaid pj’s for the baby. So fun. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the heads up! I bought two of the ‘never crabby’ shirts for my twin girls, 2 of the multi yoga skort, tops in red and yellow to match the skorts, one shirt that says ‘star’, and another shirt that says ‘cutie’. All for 26 bucks! I may have to hit the Carter’s outlet this weekend, ’cause now I’ve got the stock-up-for-next-summer itch.

I guess Devan and I are all alone buying boy stuff…I just bought 3 graphic t-shirts, a polo shirt, a plain t-shirt, stone-colored overalls, and two pairs of shoes–all for $21.75!! This is such a great deal :-)
