Wednesday

I want to send you over to Shauna today, because I love the topic of gift-giving and she is working it. I want to read lots of people’s answers to her questions.

Also, I meant to say about the free bone marrow registration post from the 14th: spread the word.

Also, I would like to say that I am tired of my maternity shirts. And that I have hit that point where even though it’s unlikely and not really something I should be hoping for, I keep thinking how great it would be if I went into labor and we could get this over with. I’ve only gone into labor one time, with my first pregnancy, when my water broke at 37 weeks 6 days. How come that has never happened with the other pregnancies? I always make it to my 38- or 39-week c-section date, even when I was carrying twins. That’s good, of course that’s good, and genetically lucky, and I am grateful. But.

I only made it past my due date with my second child. The rest came at 37-38 weeks and I was soooo ready.

I am hoping your pregnancy finishes quickly. I remember those feelings. :)

Always expect the unexpected. With my first, I was 11 days early; my second was a full 3 weeks early. I never made it to my last day of work. So, with #3, I wisely ended work 3 weeks before my due date and the little bugger was a day LATE! Those were the longest, most anxious 3 weeks of my life (I have FAST labours, so I wouldn’t venture out too far from home). So… maybe you’ll go early with this one!

I don’t think you need to feel the obligatory gratitude for going to term. As long as the kid is big and strong enough to come out, which I’m sure it is by now, I’d be ready, too! By thirty-six weeks, when I was allowed off bedrest, I jumped off that couch and started pacing nonstop to get things MOVING!

I hate maternity clothes, too. Before Elise came, I was constantly pulling down my shirts and being cranky about the clothes I had to wear. Now, nothing fits so I’m wearing pj’s everywhere.

I can’t wait to see photos of your new baby after your c-section! I think it is awesome that you have made it to the your dates, especially with twins!!! My body hates pregnancy, that is why we are stopping with Elise.

Hi Swistle! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I love “meeting” new people.

I have four kids and with the first three I went WAY past my due date. But I always went into labor on my own, even though it was so late. With my last baby I got really sick with pre-eclampsia and had to be induced at 37 weeks.

And I completely understand your pain with maternity clothes. We’re quite sure, but not certain, that we’re done having kids. But when we ARE certain, I’m gonna have a big ol’ bonfire and purge myself of the hideousness. Not that they were all hideous, but when it’s all you wear for 9 month times four, you really come to hate them!

LoriD-do not be telling me that, man! I had my first baby at 36 weeks (early but perfectly healthy) and here I was thinking I was going to be money from here on out. Damn.

Hmmm, for me, first baby was 3 days late and weighed 10lbs. Dr. said she’d never let that happen again, so i had my daughter 10 days early….and she was 9’5. I guess you can never win with this pregnancy/labor.delivery business. :)

Good luck to you–5 kids, what a blessing!!

    Thanks for the linky love.

I hate maternity clothes. I loan them out as much and as often as I can. I just hate to see them.

    Take care.

If you go any more than 24 hours without posting these days, I wonder if you’ve gone to have the baby. Me? Obsessed? Never.

This will be an interesting situation for us if we have another because Harper was breech so I was a planned C-section (after they tried to turn her the week before, not fun!); not a single labor pain for me.

Shannon: I wear pjs afterwards, too!

Kelsey: I do the same thing when anyone I know is expecting! One day hearing nothing? OH MY GOD THE BABY MUST BE HERE!!!

Mrs. Flinger: If anyone DOES, I DON’T WANT TO KNOW.
