It’s lovely. I’m a big fan of pigtails- I was so excited when Addy’s hair got long enough. Which was at about one year. She is blessed/cursed with my hair, which grows like a weed but is so thick and unruly that it requires hours of taming to be shaped into anything resembling a “style.” Usually it’s a ponytail for me, and pigtails for her. No straight iron in this house.
Darsie spends most of the time pulling out what I just put in…so I gave up. I finger comb her hair when I remember so I’m sure we are the mom/daughter pair that everyone whispers “do you think she ever combs her daughter’s hair?”. No, and I rarely do more than finger comb my own hair, too.
I think Harper’s hair might just be getting long enough for that, but she’s almost two and a half and she won’t let me! Which it looks might be in your future as well.
I know the two year old shouldn’t be making the decisions, but pigtails are one battle I decided I didn’t need to fight.
Mimi– It is totally worth it. The tights. The dresses. The headbands that look like garters. The little maryjane shoes. And, above all, the teeny fountain ponytails.

Oh cute pigtails!
Adorable!! Why are pigtails only cute on little people?
She looks very suspicious of those pigtails… I’m wondering what “behind the scenes” looked like while you gave her that fancy ‘do.
PRECIOUS! With a capital everything. I can’t wait to get my baby girl’s mop of thin hair out of her eyes.
cute!
hee! Mine took over 2 years to grow enough to do that, too. She totally didn’t appreciate it, though.
She looks so happy about it, too!

That’s cute, but she’s giving you the “I wish the feeling was mutual” face.

Love those baby ponies! :)
Mwah! I keeeeesss her!
And she looks so pleased with it! :-) So cute though, thanks for sharing the picture!
Erica– It wasn’t pretty. It went better the next morning when I did it again: she was less surprised.
I just put the “first pigtails” scrapbook page of my daughter in her book. She is six now and we battle every morning about how to do her hair.
I am so jealous. I’ve been waiting 15 months… and still counting…
I love her pigtails!
i love it when you can make little girls look like clingons! the first pigtails are so precious!
What a cutie. That’s why I want to have a girl someday!

The most adorable of all milestones.
ha!! She looks adorable, though, slightly unimpressed!
